How To Setup USB Printer Sharing on Huawei B315s-936

Setting up your Huawei router & printer for wireless printing:


Note: In my case, I'm using 192.168.8.1 as my IP Address. Just replace it with your routers IP Address.

STEP 1 - Enabling Samba Sharing
1. Turn on printer and connect it to your routers USB port.
2. Open your browser. Type in the address bar, 192.168.8.1 (or your router's IP address) and press Enter.
3. Login and go to Sharing tab.

4. Tick "Enable Samba Sharing"
5. Click on "User Setting" You need to add a user first before you can use the samba sharing.
6. Click Add, type in your desired username, password, etc. Click OK then click Apply.


STEP 2 - Installing the printer
METHOD A: Through File Explorer
1. Open File Explorer (or go to My Documents), in the address bar, type in \\192.168.8.1 and press Enter.
2. A dialogue box should open and it will ask for username and password, just type in the username and password you added earlier in the user setting of your routers GUI. Tick on "Remember my credentials" so you won't have to sign in again the next time you navigate to \\192.168.8.1.
3. Double-click a USB printer and follow the onscreen instructions to install the printer driver. The printer driver only needs to be installed once.
4. Done.


METHOD B: Through Control Panel
Note: Take note of your printers name. Under Sharing tab, below "USB Printer List" Ex. EPSON_ME32
1. Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Devices and Printers
2. Click "Add Printer"
3. Click " The printer that I want isn't listed."
4. Click "Select a shared printer by name."
Type in the box \\192.168.8.1\EPSON_ME32 (or replace EPSON_ME32 with your printers name)
5. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the printer driver.
6. Done!
